STRONG COMMENT: February 2011 with Commando Rob.
 www.gocommandopersonaltraining.co.uk

Hello guy’s
It has been a busy period for Go Commando in the last few weeks and with Tough Guy 2011 now an uncomfortable memory for most of the competitors it is the perfect time to talk about future Commando challenges, new Group Commando classes in your area and/or setting yourself up for achieving something memorable this year....
I have organised several successful races, trips and challenges now and this year will be no exception.
As of this morning I have also just purchased a huge amount of functional training equipment for improving Sports performance, overall conditioning, work capacity, Rehab and ......Specialist Strong man gear!! (you are going to love the Globe Dumb Bell David ? and with the grappler, farmers walk apparatus and Thor’s hammer....My PT clients should stand by for immense strength gains)
If you are worried about getting involved with the Commando classes or have been putting training off....stop the rot remember that you get what you deserve and you take what you earn..... there is a quality bunch of people and even though the trainer can be overly enthusiastic and always wanting more from people.....the results you will achieve in the classes will surpass your expectations.
POINTS FOR DISCUSSION
1.    Commando challenges
2.    New group class in Clapham........Taking names now for a trial session on the 17th of Feb
3.    Recommended training equipment and clothing websites
I don’t take commission, just mutual satisfaction that you guy’s are prepared for anything!
I do get 20% off kettle bells and Bulgarian Bag’s though for all of my current  clients as a thank you....give me a shout/mail me, loads of people have taken advantage of this already. Follow the link to see what I have at my finger tip’s... http://www.gocommandopersonaltraining.co.uk/shop.html

COMMANDO CHALLENGES
Tough Guy
On the 30th of January this year I had the upmost pleasure of witnessing some sterling performances around Tough Guy 2011.
There were a few nervous Spartans in Male and Female form the night before the race and the fact that I had convinced so many people from the 29 takers to camp out in sub zero temperatures strengthened my resolve that anyone can get their head right and put their body to good use.....
There were 5000 competitors and our team was entered in as Blair’s Bitch project! (Nick C’s creation from last year’s Tough Guy team name)
Before the race I had received emails and calls searching for my reassurances that they would not be de-fleshed or burnt in the fiery holes! After the race was completed though and we had two cases of mild Hypothermia to contend with, I was the proudest Bloke on the field.
Thanks guy’s for making this year a truly outstanding experience full of pain, trepidation and humour in the face of adversity ?
Results for the Tough Guy race can be located here http://www.toughguy.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=28&Itemid=27
Here’s what a few of the guy’s had to say..........

“Getting the war paint on certainly made my day!”   Duncan Irvine

“I too still cant feel my big left toe…which if it falls off will make a great story to tell the grand kids. Forearms and shins are destroyed but the love of life is full to the brim”
Scott Hodson

“it’s great to meet like minded positive and happy go lucky people” Ken Johnston

“It was so, so, so ridiculously good. Nothing like 120 Volts to the forehead to let me know I'm alive and kicking!”  Nick Trumble

Several members of the group were posted in Online pictures at home and abroad with a superb one being shown on the Calgary Heralds web page....Follow the link and see Nick in the second picture along the show reel....Priceless imagery of  having just thrown himself off the plank....

We will be running this challenge every year until someone takes part in a mankini.....

FUTURE CHALLENGES THIS YEAR!!!!! Let me know ASAP please to show your interest ...some are space limited due to safety, cost and admin time to prepare for the events....

A.    THE THREE PEAKS IN UNDER 24HRS (LATE JUNE)... follow the link for a detailed analysis
http://www.thethreepeakschallenge.co.uk/
I will be hosting two groups for this event...one Advanced and one Intermediate.
Even if you are a beginner at the moment, with some dedicated training and constructive sessions this challenge is well within your grasp.... approximate cost £200 dependant on numbers participating and method of travel between mountains

B.    CLIMBING MONT BLANC.......(AUGUST/SEPTEMBER)
Follow the link for a more detailed breakdown http://www.montblancguides.com/
This challenge is not for the faint hearted and will require you to be well prepared.
Contact me for more information.....approximate cost £1800
C.    THE VOTWO ATLANTIC COAST CHALLENGE: 30th SEPTEMBER – 2nd OCTOBER 2011
Three Marathons over three days to be completed as quickly as possible via grid sprinting, walking jogging or all three!!.
An ideal cost effective event as a warm up for Nepal in November or for a challenging three days with awesome backdrops (I have walked and ran all over this area and it is brilliant! Cost £155 not including travel arrangements (I picture a price of £200 all in)

And the big one! The Atacama Crossing (Chile) MARCH 2012 part of the 4 Deserts which was named by TIME magazine as #2 on its list of Top 10 Endurance Competitions in the world.....follow the link for loads more information....number one in the world will be the year after ;)
http://www.4deserts.com/atacamacrossing/rtpactp.php?SID=2&SBID=RD1
RACING THE PLANET one of the Four deserst Cost will be $3500 US dollars or at the time of writing £2,209.04 British pounds sterling.

This does not include the flight and transport links to the start of the Race or food during the race. I would estimate a fee of £3500 all in. These events are worth investing in and even though they are not cheap...they are worth saving for.

I have spoken to the organisers and they are willing to provisionally book up to ten people on this race for me......who wants a challenge above and beyond................

I have had people showing their interest for the following races too....

NEW CLAPHAM COMMANDO CLASS STARTS 17TH FEB
I am starting a group commando class in Clapham again for those of you that missed the boat last time or for those of you that want to get your hands dirty.
The weather conditions have warmed up a lot recently but don’t worry...the Kettle bell’s, Bulgarian Bag’s, Athletic bungee’s, team work based drill’s, Plyo metric  boxes and an assault course of functionally dynamic body weight conditioning exercises will keep the cold at bay ;)
I work hard in these classes to deliver a session unrivalled in London for applied knowledge, dedication and specialist training equipment.
Get in contact with me now to book a spot on the next trial session taking place on the 17th of February (That’s next Thursday at 20.00hrs lasting 75-90 mins and costing £15 per class)

Space is limited to protect the student to trainer ratio, enabling more time for you to learn...whilst working your ass off!#

Other Commando classes are established around London and are ready for you to get involved too....check here for their details... http://www.gocommandopersonaltraining.co.uk/commando-classes.html
